Vaibhav Shah

Vaibhav Shah is an Invited (Guest) Assistant Professor at the Information Systems Department (DSI) at University of Minho’s School of Engineering. He earned PhD in Industrial Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (AI), from the Production and Systems Engineering Department (DPS), at the same university, and MSc with distinction ("Red Diplom") in Information Science and Computer Engineering (with Honours, in “Intelligent Systems”) from St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University, Russia. He holds BSc degree in Statistics from St. Xavier’s College at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, India.
Vaibhav started his career in Software Development in 1999, and he is currently dedicated to academia and applied research. He also worked as a research consultant at the United Nations University’s operating unit on policy-driven electronic governance, on topics of smart cities and government policies on AI. His research interests and expertise lie in the areas of AI, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Knowledge Engineering, Evolvable Systems and Digital Transformation. He is actively involved in research projects with industrial partners in these areas, as well as supervises a number of dissertations.
